Roosters Piri Piri Chicken

The heart of our business is our signature, great-tasting, spicy chicken.

We first marinade it for 24 hours in a chilli-based marinade, then steam-cook it to make it succulent and tender. The final step is to flash grill it to order, basting it with your choice of either one of our famous fiery piri piri sauces, to give it an extra chilli kick, or a mild lemon and herb sauce.

Our chicken is available to eat in a number of ways.

You can have it as breast fillet flavoured with your choice of Piri Piri sauce and served with Hellmann's Light mayonnaise and fresh salad in either a gourmet bun, warm pitta or in a wrap.

It is also available as portions of chicken, from a single piece to a whole quartered chicken, again with your choice of flavouring.

Finally, you can also eat our chicken as delicious succulent strips or wings. We offer all our chicken pieces as platter meals for families and parties too.

What is Piri Piri?

Piri Piri sauce (or Pili Pili in Portuguese) originates from the southern region of Africa, when Portuguese colonists introduced the fiery Bird's Eye chilli pepper to the indigenous population in the 15th century.

Over 50 years, the chillies spread like wildfire throughout the region, and became a staple ingredient in a sauce used to marinade chicken, meat and fish.

At Roosters Piri Piri, we have adapted our Piri Piri marinade to enhance the flavour, and we think you'll love it!
